INDIGENOUS AMERICA
what I leaned in the topic of Indigenous America is that Indigenous people are referred as a group of people with a shared national identity. They are the descendants of the peoples who inhabited the Americas, the Pacific, and parts of Asia and Africa prior to European colonization. Nearly 70 million depend on forests for their livelihoods, and many more are farmers, hunter gatherers or pastoralists. They are landless but still live on to this day.
SETTELER COLONIALISM
Settler colonialism is a distinct type of colonialism that functions through the replacement of indigenous populations with an invasive settler society that, over time, develops a distinctive identity and sovereignty.
